The eighth US MONOPOLY Championship was held September 19th & 20th, 1987, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. Gary Peters won the tournament over a field of 48 state champions plus the returning national champion, Jim Forbes. His prize was a $5K savings bond (which he apparently donated to charity) as well as a trip to the 1988 World Championship in London.
